Pros

Getting to work with the queer community as a client population focus

Cons

I was a mental health therapist at UPC for over 2 years, and worked under 3 different sets of directors/CEOs in that time. As a licensed mental health professional, it was difficult to be supervised/managed by leaders with no experience in the field of mental health. I expressed concerns about unethical decision making and financial mismanagement and was written up twice then ultimately fired. UPC misrepresents the mental health services it provides and there is high staff turnover as a result of poor management, which is harmful to the therapy clients they claim to serve.
