-You can still become a manager or something else if you cannot sell

-Designed to hire reps and fire them after their customers become house accounts -The company asks their employees to write reviews so this should be considered when reading the reviews below -I was a top performer and they fired me for the sake of keeping a halo on a very unethical employee and they never gave me a chance to talk about my issue with another manager. They will fire top performers before hearing them out and keep people who fail to produce. -Questions about the job and how to improve are not welcomed here -Manager restricts any communication with HR, other sales managers, or sales director for his own sake

We are disappointed in this review and would like to address the many factual inaccuracies on display here. Velocity Transport does not transition accounts into house accounts. In fact, we encourage our employees to treat their desk as their own small business; our culture is built on that level of autonomy. We do ask for reviews in order to monitor team satisfaction, but we do not request positive employee reviews and do not incentivize them. It is also not in our best interest ethically, culturally, or financially to terminate employees without first pursuing alternative solutions. We offer performance counseling, weekly check-ins, and have an open-door policy so any team member can discuss any concerns with our leadership team. Outside of performance, team members are terminated most often for not living up Velocity core values, not treating customers and teammates with respect, and/or refusing to follow company processes. We kindly request this review be deleted or amended to reflect the truth.

I had an awesome experience serving Velocity Transport as a Customer Sales Representative. This company is second to none in fostering a comfortable company culture where mature employees are able to work diligently yet at their own pace and enjoy their colleagues along the way. I truly enjoyed going to work everyday and the work environment. Velocity Transport also has a stellar management team that gives careful consideration to the concerns of their staff. For instance, the sales teams expressed their views on the compensation plan and it was not long before the commission structure was revised to benefit the employees in a way that allows them to see an increase in compensation far quicker than the original plan. I also enjoyed the benefits package that cost much of nothing to cover myself and a child. Finally, Velocity is growing rapidly and shows every sign of having a thriving successful future.

Cons

-Training needs improvement -Work expectations could be more clearly defined for all employees at the beginning of hire -Lack of communication and understanding among the Carrier and Customer teams

Cons

None really worth mentioning. Competitive environment, but I guess you shouldn’t be in sales anyway if you can’t embrace a bit of healthy competition.
