Pros
Velours not only promises great work-life balance, but also delivers. Very rarely did I have to work more than the standard 9-hour/day or during weekends (except, of course, if there were exceptional demands). There was no "overnight culture" whatsoever, and they were always very understanding whenever I needed help in assignments or when deadlines were negotiable. More than anything, as a small team, internal bureaucracy was minimal, and even our CEO (who lives in France) was relatively easily available for a chat and feedback. People in this company work to deliver a service, not to show off or compete with fellow workers.
Cons
The company's system of benefits and hierarchical progression has a long way to go yet, but they're on the right track. Moreover, some internal procedures need to be more institutionalized, and too many functions are concentrated with the associated partners. The company's HR as a whole took a hit during the pandemic, and it is still recovering.
