Pros

- Some world class people, both in technical and in soft skills. - The disruptive technology and amount of patents is amazing and can really amount to something in the near future - if "something" changes. - Office in a great location and with above-average conditions.

Cons

- Nepotism off the charts. You may not even see so much nepotism in family businesses. If you say "amen" to every single thing the CEO says, your growth is unlimited (and I mean unlimited - even if you never worked at another company before, and fail multiple times, you can climb to C-levels just like that). As soon as you disagree with him on something, you're halfway out the door. If you directly point out his flaws, bye-bye. - 1900s work culture enforced in a start-up. Fun and flexible work is promised, but definitely not delivered. Demonization of remote work is laughable. - Asking your employees to post fake reviews on Glassdoor to mask the reality, causing over 1/3 of the entire reviews of a 7-year company to come from a 2-week span? I mean... Come on, show some decency!

Pros

If you have a PhD degree or know a few buzzwords on the latest trends (AI, Machine Learning, Cloud), you'll be right at home. Make sure you wake up early to go jogging with the CEO and his students to stay healthy, embrace the monthly theme (mindfulness, oncall as an unpaid duty, and so on) and enjoy your paid vacations while it lasts.

Cons

- Technical debt is over the charts; not even half of what they tell you at the interviews has been correctly designed, let alone implemented; - Working from Home is considered harmful for your productivity; - no technical interviews: you'll be hired based on how much you increase the company's outside perception (PhD degree, having been on well funded startups, etc); - the CEO reinvents reporting lines every two quarters, despite claiming a flat hierarchy. Entire teams suddenly lost impact/ownership and left for better offers; - your ability to say "yes" to everything the leadership team decides will take you far, even if they change their mind every quarter. Doing otherwise will seriously jeopardise your future at this startup.

Pros

It started as a united team, doing things for fun but the so-called great culture ended up rotting exponentially over the last few years. There is free fruit every day but only for the first 5 to arrive since it's fairly insufficient. Most companies around offer all kinds of meals and free gym.

Cons

We got to a point where the CEO asked the senior leadership team to go to Glassdoor and write down positive critics to boost the company rank since we are losing people fast and we are unable to hire. People are leaving exactly due to very poor C level management, teams work as silos creating conflicts every day and there are very few opportunities for training or any kind of professional growth. The people that have left are even putting the company in court trial due to unpaid rights. I'm currently looking for other opportunities, this ship is sinking fast, congrats to the C managers that were able to achieve this so quickly.
