Pros

Generous time off, clean and open work environment, significant discount for a local health club and willingness to promote from within.

Cons

High rate of turn over In the last four years, significant reductions in staffing has increased stress and burn out rate of remaining employees. Less financial recognition to employees for taking on significant shifts and addition of workload.

Pros

A lot of very talented people work for this company and they are committed to doing good work. The environment is friendly and many people stay here for decades. There are great benefits, including educational support, and employees have a good ability to move around within the company to try out different positions.

Cons

This is a very conservative culture, though that is to be expected for a utility. Internal communication is challenging at times and there is limited long-term upward mobility beyond the managerial level. There is a resistance to changing vested systems, which can make processes inefficient. The culture is very strongly divided into departments, which can make collaboration challenging when the departments have differing priorities.
