Pros
Some genuinely good colleagues (the few who stay), and occasional opportunities to work with interesting gear or clients. There is an opportunity for this to be a great company, not with the current senior leaders.
Cons
Extremely high staff turnover — more than half the team has turned over in a year, with no real effort to understand or address why. No exit interviews, and removed HR from the business. Leadership structure is confusing and ineffective. Decisions are often made without clarity, consistency, or consultation. Single point of failure that ignores emails, doesn't turn up to meetings and is generally unprofessional. Toxic culture that leaves people burnt out, undervalued, and ignored. No investment strategy for resource growth and no plans to look at the root cause. Performance reviews are non-existent, and salary reviews simply don’t happen. There is no budget for pay increases, and every request is met with aggression and ridicule to try and gain a dominant negotiating position by the GM. Very little professional development or recognition. Hard work is routinely overlooked, while dysfunction is tolerated. Feedback is discouraged or dismissed, and open communication isn’t part of the culture. Worse yet, they think that it is an open communication business.
