Pros

Flexibility compared to other companies, Access to different tools and software

Cons

No vision or mission clear to employees Everyone works in Silos Extremely inefficient: Approval of approvals needed. Projects are never completed Management is not clear nor communicates effectively Micromanagement is the rule Salaries below average for Tech The company culture is toxic, teams compete with each other in an unhealthy way. The subcontracting of staff through agencies, generates in the company a two-tier level of employees, those who are under PCCW and others. Litte benefits compared to others, No clear career progression path, No feedback

Pros

Nothing if you are toxic guy

Cons

I work in viu with software engineer 1. You need to cooperate with China team which is they are so toxic in development process, always do horrible works and try to reject any work 2. The management grade are new . They wanted to prove themselves so trying to cut budgets for the resources which is the experienced worker to help to build new revamp system . The fact is they are not really technical to know what you did. 3. Lack of diversity: The tech industry has historically had a lack of diversity in terms of gender, race, and ethnicity. This can lead to a lack of inclusivity and can make some employees feel marginalized. 4. Rapidly changing technology: The tech industry is constantly evolving, which means that employees need to keep up with new technologies and trends. This can be challenging for some employees, particularly those who are not naturally tech-savvy. 5. Office politics: Like any workplace, tech companies can have office politics and conflicts between employees or teams. This can affect morale and productivity.

Managers and Heads with little to no experience

Pros

The brand. A lot of projects and work to work on. Although it can be too much. Working with different teams. Partial creative work.

Cons

Hierarchy is confusing because some managers and heads have no actual industry experience or is inexperience in the field. Some have no overall outlook and no idea on what they are doing. Promotions are based on proximity bias & not actual experience and skills. Many managers were promoted just because they stayed in the company longer and is in good relationship with top management, not because they were exceptional. Holds salary increase without basis why. Rushes work. Hardly listens to employee complains and took a while to implement action in complains. Not inclusive and sometimes fails to i inform employees of work that needs to be, resulting to piled up work due to rush. Misuse of job titles. Workload. Biased managers. Do they really know what we are doing and what are challenges are?
