An unsustainable operation

Business outlook

Pros

Great care delivered to clients and patients.

Cons

Vivent Health is not a coherent national organization. Instead, it's a collection of previously independent HIV/AIDS service organizations that have been subsumed into a larger body (Vivent Health) due to their challenging financial states. The organization's perpetual focus on growth through the acquisition of organizations in states of financial precarity in unsustainable, and at times seemingly predatory. The focus should be on building systems and processes that work before acquiring new targets. So many critical systems and processes required to run an operation at scale simply do not exist. There is an exceptional amount of staff turnover, an incredibly ineffectual executive leadership team, a complete lack of respect for or acknowledgement of local challenges outside of the Milwaukee HQ, a surprising amount of deep distrust among local donors and supporters outside of the Milwaukee HQ, and a CEO that is entirely unfit to lead the enterprise. On top of all this, an exceptionally chaotic operational 'strategy' (if you can call it a strategy at all) makes Vivent Health an unfit place to work. PLEASE consider these truthful Glassdoor reviews you're reading now before you choose to work at Vivent Health because doing so will be a regretful mistake.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We do indeed provide great care to our clients and patients! We are an organization created from mergers of other HIV/AIDS service organizations, and this makes us strong and viable for the foreseeable future. We are working hard to create a Vivent Health culture that recognizes the unique contributions of each merged organization, while also bringing us all together as one family. These are exciting times for Champions who want to be a part of our impactful organization. Creative, motivated, and mission-driven champions thrive at Vivent Health!

Pros

The office chairs were comfortable The air conditioner works pretty good & The clean company company does a great job keeping the place cleaned

Cons

The CEO is a egoistical malignant and self-serving, unethical jerk and this type of behavior cascades through the organization and becomes legitimized including his pet the Chief People Officer. The C-Suite Leadership team with the exception of a few are pretty much incompetent and have no clue what the heck they are doing. The Senior Vice Presidents are so confused and delusional. Most directors don’t trust any of them as they are super sneaky. HR Department is a complete dysfunctional bipolar department with no sense of direction and morale. Those that do care, end up leaving. The people need the former CEO of ASA to come. He was our hero. The overall organization is damned. Throw each location away or just get rid of the leadership of that place.

Absent CSuite

Pros

The clients and Purpose of the work.

Cons

Pay attention to the number of vacant supervisor and director roles. Says a lot! We don’t have the tools to be successful. Positions stay vacant way too long or we lose people because pay is not competitive- constant turnover. Constant cycle of burnt out employees. We have people running the show who don’t even visit the departments they operate. Clueless to clients needs and operational needs.

Thank you for your candid response. It has been 10 months since your post and I hope you've noticed significant improvement in time to fill positions, now that we have a fully complemented Talent Acquisition team. Our leadership team, under the direction of our new interim CEO, works hard to understand all champions' needs and challenges, as well as recognize all deserving champions in an honest and fair manner. We are interested in your perspective after the past ten months and I invite you to reach out at hr@viventhealth.org to share.
