Pros

Vizzuality is a mission driven company. Projects are chosen not just thinking of money, but with the premise of making people's lives better and preserving the environment. If that's something you care about it really gives your daily work a new dimension and makes it purposeful. Because of this, too, we get to work with very interesting clients, people who are actually changing the world in organizations and companies with whom we can share values and goals. The team is very diverse and cosmopolitan, including coders, designers, data scientists and researchers with many different backgrounds and coming from all places. Lastly, although you can't always do new things and you are, at the end, working for clients, the projects do many times allow for experimentation, and the use of technologies and solutions that are novel and unique. If you are a curious person you have also the chance to learn new things with each project.

Cons

If you are not interested in making a change in society or preserving the environment this may not be the best place for you. If you don't share the values of the company (and the team, for that matter) you may feel a bit isolated. Also, there's usually an urge to go the extra mile with clients, which sometimes results in tight deadlines, frequent changes in specs and a certain feeling of "organized chaos". People are expected to take responsibilities and make decisions quickly, at times at short notice, so if you prefer a predictable environment this may not be your dream job
