Pros

Remote, that's the only thing of value.

Cons

No real pay raise. Specialist get about a 30 cent raise when advancing to becoming mentors which is laughable considering how much more work is put on them. The math used to determine accuracy rate is deeply flawed, which results in many employees being placed on a "Coaching Plan" to help monitor/bring up your rate. However, there is no real solution used to do this. Managers leave it up to you find a way to do better without providing any resources. Once you've completed the plan, thinking you've done well, you're given a Memo (PIP) about a month+ later letting you know that in fact you have not done well and that if you don't do better within 60 days you maybe terminated. Also, there appears to be targeting of individuals with this plan. The company wants both quality and quantity but in this environment of micromanaging thus will never be achieved, probably what lead to a lawsuit against them in 2023.

Pros

All the people in my role work remotely and the company has a wonderful mission. The benefits are good, as well (Excellent health insurance and 4% match of 401K).

Cons

When I started 5 years ago, the company was Copernicus Group and was very supportive, people-centered, and focused on quality over quantity. Now, the productivity requirements are so high that the quality suffers, most people are not meeting their metrics minimums, and there isn't any time to be helpful to fellow co-workers, which creates isolation. The processes are very complex and have been modified weekly for years. If an employee expresses hesitation about whether any of the proposed changes will be more efficient/ helpful, they are labeled as "not being a team player" despite the fact that many of the changes have lowered the quality of service that WCG IRB is able to provide to clients.
