Pros

Co-workers are knowledgeable and friendly. Executive producer is understanding and helps when he can.

Cons

Management has no idea what is going on but pretends that they do. Nothing is ever planned or properly communicated. Management spends more time in closed-door meetings than helping their overworked staff. Corporate is making large cuts, so there’s no job security. When people are laid off, the extra work falls on producers — the lowest paid people in the newsroom. 401k match was eliminated and PTO rules changed. Be prepared to be paid little, worked hard, and guilt tripped for needing any time off. You’ll also be talked down to, especially if you’re a woman.

Pros

Good starter place for college graduates.

Cons

Not a lot of room to grow experience or receive bonuses.
