Excessive travel on own time, hard work not rewarded, poor remuneration and statutory benefits
Pros
Costs of travelling covered People are really nice The general manager is very experienced and very caring Working from home (25%) Chance to meet different people with different problems Busy and quiet periods Autonomy to make improvements during quiet periods Learning / training opportunities Summer company event
Cons
Discretionary bonus scheme designed not to be payable. based on 80% billable which you have no control over. Taking holiday, being sick and training all count against it. Improvements during quiet period count for nothing Salary on offer dropped £5k after application (negotiating tactic to see if you walk away) Eminence recruitment who approached me were owned by the same director (never disclosed) No overtime or time of in lieu payable for travel Too much travelling in your own personal time No work/life balance 40 hour week (excludes travel) Directors not interested in change/making things better. Statutory holiday (20 days) Statutory pension High staff turnover Penny pitching on core tools and services that support the business. Causing increased manual work and effort for everyone. No annual salary review - You have to go cap in hand.
