Pros

The people that Kirt hires are always great, but you spend your time consoling one another over how miserable working for Kirt Webster is. The only other plus is being in the music industry but I'm not sure it outweighs the way you will be treated.

Cons

Kirts is an extremely unhappy person who balances that unhappiness by intentionally making others around him unhappy. This was the single most uncomfortable work environment I have experienced yet to date and hopefully for the rest of my career. While Kirt under pays his staff by and extreme amount which considering most are just a year or two out of college I understand the work hard first requirement, however, the verbal abuse and the emotional roller coaster that is Webster PR makes the pay feel like pennies on the dollar. It is hard to tell whether Kirt simply loves the drama or if there is some underlying personality issue. One minute he is praising you in front of everyone and then ten minutes later he is telling you that he is going to fire you for coffee being too hot. Harassment is a word i will use for you to consider before taking a job here. About 6 publicist were hired when I was and we all left under a year almost exactly the same time. Everyone is happy now and keeps up for the most part.

Pros

The potential Webster has in terms of being a big name in the Nashville PR world is what drew me and a lot others like me to this company. Big names like Dolly, Hank William's Jr. and Kenny Rogers are a few. The owner Kirt is very personable at first but it can turn ugly pretty quick.

Cons

Kirt likes to run his employees and interns through the mud and doesn't show his appreciation for your hard work after the fact. He will only approach you when you make a petty mistake. Be prepared to spend a lot of hours outside of 9-6 and not get paid for it. If you expect a day off during the week after pulling a 60 hour week, good luck. Kirt expects a lot from his employees, yet they aren't paid close to what they are worth. Also, people lose respect for Kirt pretty quickly when he's goofing around to the point where it is unprofessional. It gets a little embarrassing when Kirt acts immature and uses vulgar language and gestures around potential clients and especially employees. I feel bad for anyone who is still there.

Pros

You get to work with some great clients, and gain access to cool experiences, events, etc.

Cons

Working here was the most toxic work environment that I've ever experienced. Everyone in the office was always on edge because you never knew whether Kirt would show up in a good mood, or a bad mood and threaten to fire the entire staff. Prior to starting, I read an article posted by the Nashville Scene, which contained comments from past employees. Come to find out that every comment on there was true. Kirt was unstable and made the lives of employees downright miserable. The turnover rate is awful, and employees are always coming and going. Kirt loves change and if he gets burned out on an employee, he will basically force them to quit by making their life a living hell. I would never recommend anyone to work here, unless you want to belittled, disrespected and work for a shark with little to no morals.
