Pros
At WEST you really feel like you matter as an individual. You are given a very high amount of responsibility in comparison to a comparable position at another construction company. WEST really cares about their employees and is progressive in how they do business. They recognize their employees strengths and match teams accordingly. Excellent upper management leadership, with strong work ethics, but also great senses of humor and communication with their teams. Compensation is competitive and the benefits are excellent.
Cons
There were a couple bad apples that might have been forgiven a few too many times. They have finally been removed from the company. Hours can be long, but that is the nature of the industry, especially now. There is a lack of individuals in the 30-45 age range and sometimes that gap in knowledge and experience becomes very evident. With this lack of mid-level employees, the younger and inexperienced folk can sometimes be a bit arrogant and presumptuous in the true breadth of their knowledge.
