Underpaid, overworked, poor management
Pros
Lots of members of staff were great and was great experience for me as a graduate getting in to the field of environmental science. Good pension if you can afford to pay in to it
Cons
The pay was terrible and it seemed everyone was working well beyond their capacity. They hire people on the basis of funding so hired me on a fixed term contract. I was told that my contract would be made permanent by my manager but I didn’t receive this in wroting. A couple of months later near the end of the fixed term I was told they wouldn’t be taking me on as they didn’t have enough work. They then completely denied telling me my contract was oermanent even though other members of staff had been told of my contract. On top of this my supervisor was incredibly unfriendly towards me and made me feel bad for asking for help
