      Extremely low salary offer Consistent expectation to take on more than required for no additional compensation Frequent turnover Dearth of community resources Clients are often challenging to work with due to stagnation, substance abuse, unwillingness to self-reflect, and belief that the child is the only one requiring assistance Frequently faced with ethical conundrums Little room for negotiation with management outside of WISe program

      Pros

      Willapa is an incredibly inclusive and supportive environment. Cyndi and Selena are amazing individuals to work for who go out of their way to support and validate everyone they interact with. Selena is a significant improvement over her predecessor and the environment has improved significantly during her time as CEO.

      Cons

      The most significant con in my position is the level of need in the surrounding communities. Due to its placement in a rural community there is a significant number of individuals in need of services and insufficient governmental support in terms of funds to service the area as much as it deserves/needs.

      Pros

      We have had a new CEO for over a year now and she has provided an atmosphere that is positive, friendly and open. We have a lot of employees who have gone elsewhere then come back to us. We are working on developing competence working with our transgender population and with our LGBTQIA community. We have several staff who are part of the LGBTQIA community.

      Cons

      I have worked at WBH for 7 years this month. I have seen some turnover of management and staff, but we have less turnover than what is the national average for community mental health.
