Pros
Pays moderately well. If you have a dog you can bring it into work anytime or if you have a new baby and no babysitter you can bring the baby into work. This really helps all the employees sitting at desks all around you to concentrate.
Cons
If you are not a "favorite" that kisses *BUTT* to management, you will not get raises or anything favorable no matter what skill you have demonstrated. If you kiss *BUTT* properly and get a Golden Ticket you can be the absolute worst of coders and rudest employee and get all the raises that the people that trained you (and keep fixing your code) should have gotten.
