      Excellent organization, great for early career learning, tougher for middle career, excellent again for senior positions

      Pros

      Meaningful work. Thin layer of bureaucracy. Focus on professional development. Family atmosphere with lots of long time staff in the system. Great opportunity to grow in responsibility and learn about various sides of international development.

      Cons

      Few career paths from entry level into mid-career positions unless one goes abroad to the field offices. Being reliant on US gov funding means that every few years things get tight until new grants are secured.

      Pros

      The individuals are absolutely wonderful to work with and each division feels like a tight knit community. There are several perks such as internal professional development workshops, company-wide mixers, great resources, company raffles, and education reimbursements, which is very rare for a non-profit.

      Cons

      There isn't a lot of opportunity for growth from entry-level to middle-level, and middle-level is almost nonexistent. While your work schedule can be flexible, workloads are overwhelming for many. Annual raises are the bare minimum. Management is not very diverse and they could use some diversity and inclusion training.
