Pros

- Great reputation. Say Wray Ward to anyone in Charlotte and they will be impressed. - Looks awesome on your resume.

Cons

- Poor management. They don't know what's going on most of the time. - Pay is sad. WW continuously beats its "stretch" goals, yet their pay is terrible. Go anywhere else, and you're guaranteed to see a major salary jump. - They don't support employee growth. Good luck getting your yearly review, promotion, raise, etc. Do a little research and you'll see there has been high employee turnover. - Extremely bureaucratic. They are old-fashioned, set in their ways and don't react well to ideas for change. - There is no culture. None. Everyone shows up, complains, then goes home. No one is happy. - For a top creative agency, there is absolutely no flexibility. They do work from wherever Wednesdays during the summer, but it's every other week and a lot of people don't even get to WFH.

Pros

- Cool office building that incorporates its client base in Home & Building industry - Agency is well-known in local Charlotte community - Occasional office events (which are riddled with alcohol and few other beverage options. Be prepared to feel pressured into drinking)

Cons

- Salary is under market value. And advocating for a salary increase after starting is a futile effort. You will be underpaid here. - Health insurance is low quality. It covers very few actual medical emergencies and has an unreasonably high deductible. - PTO offered is 15 days/year and prorated based on start date. You are often guilted into breaking up PTO dates so not worth applying here if you want to take more than 3 days off at a time. - HIGHLY DYSFUNTIONAL management. More like micromanagement and overt favoritism. No use going to HR since they instigate drama with their gossip mongering and racist/ageist remarks. - Management is completely disconnected from employee needs and lack consistency in leadership. They mandated a back-to-office 3 days/week AFTER saying just two months prior that going in-office was based on dept needs. - This agency has a DE&I council yet doesn't respect diversity outside of "on paper."

Pros

Working at Wray Ward was a great opportunity for my career. I loved my coworkers and learned a lot from them.

Cons

Upper management was always preaching about company values and caring for Wray Ward employees, which looking back feels pretty untrue. They laid off nearly thirty employees in one day... completely out of nowhere. Many of those lay-offs occurred over Zoom while the employee was in the office and their boss was at home. The company leaders seemed to be devastated over the layoffs and the fact that the company couldn't afford to keep their employees, however, they continued to spend a great deal of money on company parties and cool gadgets for the office that served no purpose to the work environment.... like massage chairs and Metaverse VR goggles. They acted like they wanted to walk with these employees through the process of landing a new job, but provided little to no support in actuality. Upper management seems to care A LOT more about the image of the company than they do about actually cultivating a healthy culture that celebrates and values each employee. I hate to generalize all of the "higher-ups" because some of them were lovely, but most of them were pretty unauthentic.
