Pros

Talented employees (non-managerial), benefits decent.

Cons

Don’t do it; if you take any Glassdoor posting seriously, it should be this one. The struggle is real. While most Glassdoor postings are from disgruntled and burned out veterans, unfortunately, these negative postings hold water. This company is actually aware of its negative postings yet gives you good reason to post. But they will blame the employees and not take ownership. The company is thriving and has a lot of potential for growth, but they are imploding with poor management with impulsive behavior. The emotional unintelligence is overwhelming; even if you make every attempt to go in with an open mind and make the best of your daily experience it’s as if they prefer that you are unhappy and look for trouble. They have let go of seasoned people for the most minute and insignificant reasons that they give new meaning to “at will employment”. It’s almost a disaster waiting to happen. While promises of growth will get you in the door as they compliment you on your work, management will carefully lurk and stalk for reasons to let you go. The benefits and perks that they will sell to you during recruitment is all smoke and mirrors until you walk through the door on your first day. I believe that if XP rid itself of 90% of the managers and hired true leaders that they would not have any problem recruiting. Unfortunately for them, it’s a small world and people talk. None of my experienced and talented colleagues will come near this place. There is a particular set of managers who run the company under their own moods and destructive guidelines. It is now at the point of the employees just accepting this behavior because “they keep getting away with it.” By far the most back-stabbing environment in the valley. Blatant exhibitions of nepotism and favoritism. Neurotic, childish behavior, and psychological warfare via silent tantrums. There is no other way to put it; it is just weird here and very sketchy. The managers have a short attention span when it comes to employee morale and they have absolutely no SPAM filter when it comes to addressing employees; seriously crossing some lines. It’s childish and unprofessional. Look elsewhere; Apple, Google and Linkedin are down the street. For us veterans in this industry, it is just a given the management in the Silicon Valley is nothing short of a toilet flush and in this day and age of lawsuit-happy employees, I am surprised this place still standing. The managers will tell you “this is business” to justify their bad behavior without any regard to an employee’s livelihood. Employees here work under ruthless intimidation, it’s very sad as they need their jobs (Recruiters take note). This company works for the ‘clock’ and not the ‘customer’. It claims to do both and yes, it is important to respond quickly, but do so in manner where you do not commit to something in error and rob your customer of a nicely paced experience. Nobody wants to do business with the Mad Hatter. Too rushed here and too impulsive. While I understand that revenue is crucial, Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins. Don’t apply here and look elsewhere, it is for your own good and the sake of your career. It is a waste of your time while your talents could be utilized elsewhere. You want to keep your dignity. One thing is for sure, one of the worst places to work in the Silicon Valley. One last thing; if you are a student or have a family to care for – this is NOT the place. XP comes first when you work here, no matter what they tell you. Working here will ruin your career. This Glassdoor posting is well-deserved and earned; and they know it. They should stop playing dumb now.

Pros

In some locations, the teams are very close and work well together. If you are single and have no life, it may not be too bad to work at XP.

Cons

Some of the Upper Management are incompetent at best and malicious and vengeful at worst. The HR team is deceitful and incredibly unprofessional and couldn’t find integrity with a dictionary. Management does not foster an environment of growth and teamwork. The benefits are poor and the pay is even worse. There is no work/life balance, and they have no issues with piling on more work than any sane person can handle, all while preaching about how good the company is.
