Pros

Salary was good and work was remote from home also you do not have to hold a RN license in the state of LA as I worked from home in Colorado

Cons

XstremeMD has many contracts with different companies with several different rules and regulations for many companies, It is very easy to incorrectly provide information to an injured or sick employee based on the different rules of every contract. The worst part is you are not allowed to provide professional clinical reasoning or care based on these contracts. In the end, the person holding deemed the "medical liaison" at each company who has no medical training is allowed to make the disposition for the injured or sick employee. As a registered nurse, you can only recommend. For example, if an employee has a crush injury at a work sight you can not mention to the employee he or she should seek emergency care, it first must be cleared with the company. If you make a mistake of mentioning medical care to an employee you may be terminated if you have not complied with the contract which at times states you must call the "medical liaison" first. If the "medical liaison" deems a crush injury as not an emergency then the employee is not recommended and is told to take over-the-counter medication only. It is a very compromising position that the registered nurse is placed under. Also, the RN s expected to compose very long and repetitive letters in which no template is provided. Approximately 3 different letters must each be typed out containing different information to be provided to the different involved parties of an injured or sick employee. You are also expected to work weekend shifts of 48 hours straight without any other registered nurse on shift. So it can be very overwhelming

Pros

The company is attempting to improve morale and retention DEI heavy CYA heavy

Cons

wages don't align with competition retention - average medic lasts a year success via lecturing - no one mentors, so you're on your own to learn their way
