Failing organizations are usually over-managed and under-led.
Pros
For the most part the staff is fun. They love to send out "Happy Birthday" and Happy Anniversary", emails in the TO field so expect a few dozen reply all's. They are also very obsessed. "Donate to this", Give us money for that".
Cons
You think you know what you are doing with your years of training, certifications, degrees and hands on experience, but don't fret, they will shoot down any ideas you have, and nothing you do is right unless you are related to the owner, or have some sort of brown stuff on your nose if you get what I am saying. They will 100% set you up for failure! Part of this comes with the inexperience and the lack of will for them to research anything before diving head first into it. There is a time to say no, there is a time to say "we are not ready for this", however in Xtek eyes they can and will tackle any and everything! You know most companies specialize in certain sectors or technology. Xtek doesn't care about that. If you are a customer and you want "this" they make "this happen" which usually results in an angry customer, lost money on the project and people being thrown to the wolves because they didn't do said job correctly, you know the one they didn't know anything about and stated they were not comfortable doing. You will never have a full understanding of what you are doing or what your role is. You will be handed a project with no notes, no details, no scope of work and no direction. However you best not mess that project up! I saved the owner for last on my comments. She is as bipolar as Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and comes accompanied with a personality of a wet mop. If you smile at her the wrong way, she will hold a grudge for the rest of your time here. She will be vindictive and take away certain "perks" that you may have or were given. She doesn't follow any sort of guidelines or policies, she just makes up rules as she goes along. She also firmly believes in her mind that she knows every single thing about every technology out there, yet she has zero common sense. She also have favorites, anyone can sell ice to an Eskimo, but if that sell of ice yields no profits, well as long as you are selling the most you can get away with anything you want! Her main goal in this company is to cater to every single need of the customer. Sure the customer is always right, but when you give away services and labor because suddenly you and every customer are "buddies" it makes it really hard to run a profitable business, which is why their numbers of profits are extremely low. I honestly do not know how the investors that have a hand in this business are so blind to all of this, or how they keep putting money out of their pockets for so long on a failing business.
