If you enjoy broad exposure working on IT support requests as an internal IT structure for the parent company across multiple business functions in the traditional way, you will fit right in. Good external training from NUS-ISS is provided but knowledge acquired is not applicable to or implemented in the company.
Cons
Fundamentally wrong on many aspects that sets local freshers up for failure. Your salary will be even lower than market rate from the last decade despite more client on-boarding. Promises on Technical training is not kept and purely on paper for audit and government claim purposes, so do expect to sign an unjustified bond with the company. Do expect a blank OJT form during your “training” especially since the company likes to place freshers into different roles as part of their “Jack of all trades, master of none” roadmap for freshers. Too many applications and middleware to support with a lean team. Do expect to work under a non diverse team and a direct superior who is a E/S pass holder. No documentation to get up to speed and relies heavily on verbal knowledge transfer. Managers are either too busy or too unwilling to share knowledge, train, and guide you. Does not adopt agile practices or any latest technology trends and work processes that a modern tech company should have. No official job description (JD) given and you will work in a position not related to your official job title. Expect unprofessional cross talk in other languages during discussions. Do expect to be pushed to work after office hours without compensation. Conflicting instructions on which team supports which type of operations support request. You will feel like you exist to fill the MOM’s directives on foreign-local quota.
