Needs Serious Improvement – Upper Management is the Biggest Problem
Pros
Pros: ✔️ Lower-level leads and staff work hard to keep things running despite the lack of support from upper management. ✔️ Friendly and knowledgeable budtenders and night crew who genuinely care about customers. ✔️ Some opportunities to learn if you’re proactive, but expect to deal with disorganization from management.
Cons
Cons: ❌ Upper management (store-level) is disorganized, unresponsive, and micromanages the wrong things. Leads often face pushback and lack of support. When they raise valid concerns, they are either ignored or met with unnecessary hostility. ❌ Lack of communication from upper management. Leads and staff have reported that messages and concerns frequently go unanswered, leading to avoidable mistakes and confusion between shifts. ❌ Payroll mismanagement & inconsistent raises. Employees were promised raises but never received them. Payroll is manually entered, leading to frequent delays and paycheck inconsistencies. ❌ Favoritism & sample hoarding. Management gets priority access to samples while budtenders—who actively sell the product—are often left out. ❌ Questionable product quality. Some batches of cannabis have had moldy or off-putting smells, yet were still sold to customers. ❌ Workplace drug use (by upper management). It’s common knowledge that managers and some leads smoke on the clock, especially in the bathroom. This reflects poorly on the company and sets a double standard for employees. ❌ Failure to handle violent or disruptive customers. Management is extremely lenient on aggressive or problematic customers, allowing them to return even after violent or inappropriate behavior. Employees and even off-the-clock staff or customers are left to deal with harassment, which creates an unsafe environment.
