I was working as a department manager for just less than a year. However I almost had to work over time every day, from 9am to almost 10pm. The CEO would call me when I was having my days off, if I don’t answer he would get completely crazy and I would get disciplinary actions. He would also gather all managers for meetings after work and never paid any overtime salary. There are mainly chinese people working in the firm, claiming to be a law firm but there is actually no lawyers in the firm. The only person who is OISC registered is Lucy Lu but the firm referred her as a senior immigration lawyers to the public and in advertisement. The CEO himself is poorly educated, with an arrogant and bad attitude, abusing employees’ rights with reasonably high demands. Working there was very stressful because almost all the clients they received were through a chinese agency (based in Beijing). The clients were of bad qualities but aiming to get a t1 visa with slim chances to get granted. The pressure was laid on the training team to force them to memorise everything to get a visa. They ran the company in an illegal way. They put investors in their own hotels (yes they own a few hotels and keep squeezing people in so they will get the investment funds). They avoided tax (I assisted without knowing but once I knew I stopped going further). They had unreasonable salary structure, and commission was only received months later (and only if your client’s application was successful which was an absolute no chance).
