Toxic management and sudden dismissal without notice
Pros
None. I cannot identify a single benefit, perk, or positive aspect of working here
Cons
No job security: Entire team terminated without notice on a Monday morning due to "restructuring". • Questionable severance practices: Offered lump-sum payments in exchange for silence. Payouts appeared arbitrary and unrelated to tenure. • Serious safety violations: ◦ Many units contain asbestos, but employees were never told where or given documentation — even after directly asking HR. ◦ Required to work in units with active pest infestations. No proper PPE provided beyond a painter’s suit. I personally brought cockroaches home from the job. ◦ WHMIS standards were not followed. No access to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), no training on hazardous materials, and no training for dangerous tools/equipment. • HR negligence: HR unresponsive to health/safety concerns and emails. Multiple employees terminated while on medical leave or active WSIB claims. • Lack of resources: No boot allowance, tool allowance, or funding. Expected to complete rush jobs and “turn garbage into gold”. • No internal mobility: No offers to transfer teams or roles during restructuring. • Tenant impact: Rushed move-ins to substandard, bug-infested units. Practices felt exploitative toward tenants and staff.
