Appalling Leadership

Pros

Good local teams, willing to help each other, usually driven by those passionate and knowledgeable about the market research industry and the craft required to get good results to clients. Pockets of passion via acquired companies, where intelligence and insight was respected.

Cons

Leadership in Australia by someone who does not know anything about how to do research to a high quality level. This means that market signals are missed and opportunities to grow, expand and collaborate are lost. This is frustrating for staff. Recent redundancies have been incredibly poorly managed, with stock standard rationale rolled out, despite incredibly good team performance in some instances. Some global leaders display incredibly unprofessional behaviour, shouting in meetings, ignoring requests for assistance and actively alienating individuals. The culture at the top is terrible, and bureaucracy stifles creativity and free thought.

Badly badly resourced

Pros

Good leaning opportunities as a junior

Cons

Very badly resourced, people often need to do unpaid overtime to get work done. People get pushed hard to deliver on targets, to exceed targets, but for what? There’s no bonus anyway, even if there is it’s a tiny amount that’s defs not worth the amount of overtime you put in.

Pros

Hard working teams. Multi sector.

Cons

YouGov are amateurs when it comes to taking over businesses: sales decline due to lack of integration, and 2 years later making all the original company employees redundant, Shame on you playing with people lives.
