Pros

The employees were all really good people and worked hard.

Cons

Owner is dishonest, has no real grasp of what being a customer or worker friendly business means. 16 hour days were common. It was expected that "Marketing Consultants" work for less than $1500 a month with the promise make "in the six figures" if you were a top earner. It sounded great.... A 15% commission on every deal you close and then a residual for the duration of time that the customer stayed with Zeeblu. One catch is that as soon as you start closing some good deals you are told they needed to change up the sales approach. Ok. Sounds reasonable. What they don't say is that while you are "manning" the phones any deals you bring in are no longer going to pay out the same percentages. I spoke with three former consultants and found they had the exact same thing happen. What's worst though is the length to which the owner will go to try and deny the employee unemployment. I had to go to court to argue that I was entitled to the compensation. While there the CEO, Chad, stated that he believed I was using drugs while at work, though he had no proof because he didn't drug test me. While in court with my wife there as a witness he stated that "they are both probably high right now." In my opinion everything stated thus far is no way to conduct business. The environment at Zeeblu is absolutely toxic. While employed the owner would have me investigate other firms and try to figure out how he could undermine the competition rather than focus on improving the quality of the services he offered. Website designs were all "cookie cutter" WordPress format designs.

Pros

ZeeBlu has built an incredible team of hard working, creative individuals all working towards a much needed goal of supporting local businesses. The sales people, creatives, and managers are incredible people to work with.

Cons

Very sub par benefits (very little vacation pay, no medical, and extremely inflexible about working from home). The company also has an extreme lack of organization and the upper management is simply unwilling to hear alternative views and solutions to problems. It is great to work for a company that dreams big and sets lofty growth goals, but the empty promises of growth will soon lose their luster when you start seeing just how many projects and customer relationships we lose. They are also extremely unappreciative of you putting in extra time (including 60+ hour weeks w/ no overtime) and basically thank you with a simple "Thanks for doing your job."

ZeeBlu Response

ZeeBlu always appreciates constructive feedback, especially from current employees. As a very small team, we try our best to operate with transparency and maintain an atmosphere of openness. It is our goal to create an environment in which current employees feel comfortable bringing concerns of this nature to their team or appropriate manager. While anonymous reviews certainly have their place, they also inhibit our ability to directly address any concerns, or even verify the employment status or history of the reviewer. If anyone is interested in learning more about the company, please feel free to reach out to any of the current employees, we'd be more than happy to share with you our experience working at ZeeBlu.

Pros

Starting off, the training program was one of the most comprehensive training I have ever been through--the skills I have learned just in the training have made working at Zeeblu invaluable. I have learned and/or improved my skills in everything from general sales skills, to soft skills, to technical marketing, and objection handling. Another Pro is that as a marketing consultant, you have the ability to create your own income, dependent on your work ethic. Aside from the compensation we have a great team of optimistic problem solvers who mesh well together.

Cons

Just speaking for the role of a marketing consultant, this isn't a role for someone who isn't willing to learn and work hard. I think While I think the training you will receive will sharpen anyone's overall sales skills, as a marketing consultant if you are not a self-starter this isn't the position for you.
