If you are in their clique of people that started with the company, you’re good and they’ll say it’s a good place to work. Not a single BCBA has lasted at this company outside of those people. Reasons being: everyone else realizes the lack of clinical knowledge, lack of actual constructive helpful feedback & growth, and how much of a clique attitude there is.
In my time there, a BCBA was put on a performance intervention plan due to tech complaints. This intervention included just being at the center all day and no feedback or training was given to address the concerns. Most clients have no form of communication. Many kids on PECS and it is being implemented wrong. Very basic ABA concepts are not done or done incorrectly. Very minimal progress is made by clients due to this and kids that have been there for years are still working on early learner skills. I’ve seen billing fraud (BCBAs and management) billing for supervisions and parents meetings when they didn’t happen or for wrong durations. This was brought to management multiple times and brushed off.
Additionally, there is absolutely no sense of professional development and continued learning to even address these concerns or to learn. Everyone just does the little they know & since they’ve been doing that and being told it’s good, any change or training or attempt to learn is met with resistance. Very middle school response when you try to advocate for better where they make you feel like you’re crazy.
Most positive comments on google, indeed and here are from the clique of staff that was previously mentioned. If you’re in this field, I assume you want to do right by your clients and yourself, learn, grow and be ethical and this isn’t the place to do so unfortunately. I do hope it gets better for the kids sake.
Also VERY poor practicum experience. Unfortunately since the people there only know what they learned from Zelexa, they really don’t realize how much there is to improve on.
