I am sharing my experience as a former employee at Zental, hoping that potential new hires consider this before joining the company. I joined Zental because, during my interview, I was assured there would be ample support and guidance for professional development—something that my previous role lacked. At first, it seemed like I would receive that support, but my experience quickly turned in a different direction.
After several months, I was suddenly informed that Zental had been “monitoring my performance” for some time, and I was abruptly dismissed. This came as a complete shock. At no point was I given any indication of performance issues. There were no 1-on-1 reviews, no feedback about areas to improve, and no performance improvement plan—measures that are typically provided to employees in a probation period to give them a fair chance to succeed. In team meetings, I only received positive feedback, which made the dismissal even more unexpected.
During my dismissal, I was told that Zental believed I might be better suited to a face-to-face role rather than my call-handling position. Yet, instead of being offered an alternative role within one of their clinics, I was let go, despite expressing my willingness to grow and learn within the company. I had left a secure position where I had already passed my probation to join Zental, only to be dismissed without a fair opportunity to improve or explore alternative roles.
The situation was further worsened by unfulfilled promises from management. I was assured by one of the managers that he would reach out to check on me the day after my dismissal and even offered to help me find another role in his network. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts to follow up, I never heard back, and my calls went unanswered.
Following my dismissal, I contacted HR for further clarification, a copy of my employment contract, the employee handbook, and to request an exit interview. Despite reaching out several times over the course of three weeks, I have yet to receive any response. This lack of communication from HR reflects a concerning absence of transparency and accountability.
I am deeply disappointed by how Zental handled my situation. The difference between how the company presents itself to patients and how it actually treats employees is stark. This experience has shown me that Zental lacks the support, communication, and transparency that employees should expect from an organization that claims to value growth and well-being.
I hope this review serves as valuable insight for anyone considering employment with Zental.
