Pros

At the beginning is good. They treat you well so that you leave your current company and start working with them. They do respect holidays and your time off. Most work is remote but office time may be asked for. Some type of work is as a contractor which does not have any benefits.

Cons

They have laid off people in the most inhumane way possible. One morning they notified the people through their managers that they will no longer be part of the company. Since most of them were on contract, that’s it, you are on your own! Founders did not post anything in social media helping the talent get another job through their network or something. Some other companies that went through the same cared about their employees. Not Zubale, even people that had only worked a couple of months were let go, and left just like that. Then on the all-hands the founders show up dancing and singing and mentioned the new as if it was nothing. Can’t believe the enormous lack of human touch from these 2 HARVARD graduates! Their technology is terrible, app always crashing, feels like their sales people are misleading their clients that don’t know much of tech; thus buy whatever they feel may be right. Founder says Zubale should be a money printing machine, yeah right. Huge scam!

Good product, but no vision of the future

Pros

- Great salary - Remote work - Monthly all hands - Amazing product, with great growth possibilities in different countries

Cons

- It has very little documentation, and the engineering teams never seem to be prepared to welcome new members as they are all very busy - There is no product vision for the future. All features are designed following the wishes of some customers who pay more, when in fact the customer should be the Zubalero - Meetings on weekends and holidays. In store campaign periods, employees are called to work as Zubaleros. They make the argument that the company is still a fast-growing startup, so everyone has to make sacrifices, but employees aren't rewarded for it. Not to mention that this speech is no longer valid, the company received millionaires bets and is already operating in different countries - As there is no product vision, cases of moral harassment are common in engineering. When someone asks for a feature, and there are no resources or time, it's common to hear arguments like: "but I'm manager of area X", "but I'm VP of country Y", "so I will report this to the CEO " etc - There are a lot of meetings. It is common to see engineers in several meetings with managers from different areas and customers. This is because the vast majority of people in the company do not have the slightest mastery of technology, or even how to operate the product. - Multiple technical debts, and they are never a priority - They say they use the Shape Up methodology, but in fact, they don't. The most basic and important aspect of Shape Up is to define the appetite first, then stop shaping the scope of the project that will be developed. At Zubale, the exact opposite is done, first the PMs prepare the pitch, then calculate the estimate - Older engineers are not open to suggestions for new technologies and architectures - There is no priority for improving the career of engineers - Misalignment between leaders from different countries on what is a priority - Zubaleros are not rewarded as they should be, nor prioritized in the development of new tools, which makes many of them give up using the app

Pros

Remote work Opportunities for growth

Cons

They do not respect your personal time, people are expected and asked to work weekends and nights with no remuneration. Then, they layoff people with no notice, no follow up and no reason. After that, leadership acts as if nothing has happened and apear dancing and celebrating revenues. There is no benefits. They dont hire people directly. Work is ok if youre a programmer but they treat everyone else as disposable with no regards for people.
