Pros

Not having to work there anymore

Cons

All they talk about is their excellent culture which is totally bogus. They obsess over culture. But that's because the culture is the worst ever. They hire under qualified people and the fire them for not being good. I was one of the few to quit and find something better. It's a culture of men by men for men. If you're not in the boys club you won't go anywhere. Work life balance is terrible. They guilt you in to too many hours and then get mad when you need a break saying you need to be stronger. Then you get fired. They pay people to say nice things about the company to put on LinkedIn then they fire those employees. That way they either have a good review from you or you're in the club. The 5 star reviews here are probly from those boys. All they talk about is being a unicorn and they don't care who they stomp over to get there. But they have no clue what they're doing because they fire everyone! The CEO knows all this and let's it happen. He pretends to care. Do not believe a single word about their positive culture. Don't believe the fancy looking LinkedIn reviews. Most of those people don't even work there anymore. Don't believe the smiles. It's all a lie.

Expectations vs Reality

Pros

I met some wonderful people that I will keep in touch with. Product vision is very good. The commute to the office was short.

Cons

I missed a key detail during the hiring process, and I take full responsibility for that. I assumed that joining at the VP level meant I’d have a voice in shaping corporate strategy and contributing to executive-level discussions aimed at driving success. I also expected the leadership team to follow a structured operating rhythm and methodology—standard practice in most mature organizations. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Even more concerning was the lack of openness to establishing a meaningful executive process grounded in strategic planning, tactical support, and measurable outcomes. As the saying goes: "If you fail to plan, you're planning to fail." Anecdotes is driven by a top-down leadership style. Input, discussion, and feedback are neither welcomed nor encouraged—something mentioned across numerous Glassdoor reviews. It operates under a command-and-control mindset, and any deviation from that norm is met with isolation, marginalization, and eventually, exit—whether voluntary or not. That is the reality of the culture: rigid, unforgiving, and ultimately counterproductive. I anticipated some cultural differences coming from a North American corporate environment, but I vastly underestimated the extent of the disconnect. They say "Culture eats strategy for breakfast." Unfortunately, at Anecdotes, there’s little evidence of either.

Pros

Some of the employees are nice.

Cons

The culture in this company is so unprofessional and toxic, I would not recommend to anyone to work there. I remember seeing some of the reviews here before starting to work there and I regret not sticking to them. Keep away.
