Pros

1. Good friendly staff 2. Good BIM/Archicad training management 3. Opportunities for growth if you are experienced i.e will be able to work on projects independently 4. Advantageous to be retained longer if you are chinese/korean or if you are their friend, otherwise you will be thrown under the bus

Cons

1. Some of the associates and team leads do not communicate well and withhold information. They expect you to figure out things on your own and explain that in this way you learn faster and later give bad review to the management if you are not able to do it. 2. No Graduate mentoring/training and expect you to know everything 3. Associates are under pressure to finish projects on a short deadline, so the resource management is not proper as everyone ends up working late. 4. High staff rotation and culture where you are just a number quickly ready to be replaced. 5. Not a strong pipeline of projects and they are lucky to have a few good projects. 6. Directors are highly sarcastic or keep making fun of other organisations and also existing staff. I found them really egoistic on getting a few big Multi-Residential projects. I feel pity on their kiddish behaviour and do not see professionalism.

Pros

Mostly nice staff. Morning tea and Friday drinks.

Cons

Poor management, condescending, unprofessional, under resourced. Company feels like a small business and management try to figure out basic procedures. Directors are condescending and openly talk poorly about staff and other directors. Pipeline of projects is often discussed as uncertain. High staff turnover. Associates have so much work they are unable to offer support. Support for staff is patchy and often offered as a last resort, staff are not retained for skill set, retained for as little as possible. New staff brought in as patch work not as investment into organisation also contributing to high turn over. Directors openly bully staff, openly mock. Long standing staff often justify poor behaviour. Cultivates poor culture.

Pros

Large company. Relaxed days sometimes. Cake every other week.

Cons

Terrible horrendous SOPs. Everything project architect doing their own thing. Got stuck with someone who didn’t know how to use BIM. It was impossible working for them because he didn’t understand the basics of what was to be accomplished every day. Company contains and regularly protects individuals who use profanity, have aggressive outbursts and display micro aggressions towards others. Uncomfortable and hostile environment never seen before by myself within an architecture firm. Pretend to be diverse. Hire and fire culture. During my time there I saw 20 people be fired over 5 months.
