Ensuring workplace pressure doesn’t turn Into unhealthy stress for employees There is a concept called ‘EU Stress’ that refers to achieving the right amount of stress in the workplace. Simply put, a certain level of pressure is good for people because it’s motivating, and that’s what we call ‘EU stress’. However, on the other end of the spectrum, too much stress can lead to burnout, depression, anxiety, anger issues and drug and alcohol abuse, and this is when employees and their performance encounter problems. For this reason, it is really important for employers to understand what over-stressed employees look like and to take steps to promote positive mental health and wellbeing among their staff. Here are a few tips on how to do that:

Happiness is emotion, but what if we thought of it as a skill? Something we had to practice, build up or hone. There's a lot of expectation - mostly from ourselves - to be happy or happier. We all have off-days. Happiness doesn't mean being in a constant state of euphoria, but being able to see and enjoy the silver linings in our lives. Being happy can also feel like feelings of purpose, gratitude, success and motivation. Globally, In 1972, Bhutan chose to pursue a policy of happiness rather than a focus on economic growth tracked via their gross domestic product (GDPP). Subsequently, this little nation has been among the happiest, ranking amongst nations with far superior wealth. People who are happy with their jobs are less likely to leave their jobs, less likely to be absent, and less likely to engage in counterproductive behaviors at work.
