Pros
At the moment can`t think of anything. Standby travel is a good thing to have but you still have to pay hundreds of pounds for your ticket, you may or may not get on a flight and not everyone can afford, or wants to go on holidays.
Reduced hours offered to those who don`t wish to work full time.
Cons
Unpaid breaks
No parking on site
No sick pay
Constant requirement for greater output but no actual incentives
Having to go through security every day if you work in the terminal which realistically adds half an hour to your working hours (unpaid)
Pay does not keep up with inflation!
Zero effort made to retain staff within the business
Zero effort to nurture talent and bring out the best in people, no opportunities to train or gain experience in different areas of the business
Managers are stressed, unapproachable, overwhelmed, have no interest or skills to manage
Constant mistakes by resourcing department resulting in messy rosters
Decisions are made at top level with focus on financial targets only, high level execs do whatever necessary to reach those targets with zero interest in employee wellbeing or how changes affect customers
The airline genuinely does NOT care about customers, so avoid BA if you are a people`s person and believe in customer service
Bad treatment of employees - the airline only cares about cheap labour, this is why departments are being outsourced to India
Horrible uniform that is see through, causes skin disease and no matter how you wear it looks unprofessional, yet no one cares, because the only thing that matters is that it is cheap
Some employees are 70+ which puts a lot of pressure on younger colleagues - but BA does not care about employee wellbeing so no one is surprised
Positions that require specialist knowledge, experience and being in the terminal are paid less than entry-level, work from home admin roles
Constant firing and rehiring of employees on lower pay
Hiring people then making them redundant less than a year later (like the entire ARC ticketing team), forcing people out
