Management only cares about their KPI and cut costs for new / existing employees (usually hire contract positions using external HR agencies so they can cut you off and low ball you when they don't need you or transfer your current contract to a lower benefit HR agency when they renew you). (gathered insights from several different HR agencies employees) Suggest new contract employees to not treat this as a place to stay long but rather a jumping board (1 - 1.5y max.)

Messy HQ. Pulling in people all from the same company as a Snr Mgt Current transformation is disastrous. Trying to kill off long service staff with pay, appraisal and bonus restructuring almost every year.

People are good at what they do generally, good place for learning and picking up different skillset

Leadership is pushing for work from office and everyone to be a generalist. On top of that the appraisal framework kept changing, everything has to be about impact regardless of your position. If you stuck in a project with low impact, good luck to your bonus and promotion

As compared to most other agencies/ministries, you'll have actual teams who know how to do CI/CD, and you can leverage a host of tools created to make the complicated Government Commercial Cloud easy to use. For example, tools to deploy data infrastructure that comply with all the added security. Most of the scripts that vendors typically handout will not work. If you fail a project, you will get a new one and a bad bonus. Not getting fired.
