Does THG offer massages?

Pros

Flexible working hours and work from home. Some teams have an excellent culture when looked at in isolation. Some teams do work on exciting projects. As a recent graduate, you can learn a lot in a short time (although I believe you can get this at most other companies).

Cons

Toxic culture. Lack of purpose. Most people are driven by individual career progression and don't care if the company does well or not. No structure or progression framework. Lack of valuable perks (most people would prefer free fruit in the office than a 40% MyP discount). Overcrowded MediaCity office. Slow-paced and difficult to make even small changes to the company. Important news seems to travel exclusively by gossip. High turnover of staff. Very few interesting problems to solve. Almost everything feels more difficult than it needs to be. Frequent restructures.

Lack of valuable perks (most people would prefer free fruit in the office than a 40% MyP discount).

Does THG have a pension plan?

Pros

I wouldn’t say there were many perks working for THG, apart from free tea and coffee and bread and some nice colleagues.

Cons

Well practically everything; - management aren’t great, it doesn’t feel like they’re on your team and there to support you. - no structure within the company / teams - no sense of team environment - no one seems to understand the company’s processes - blame culture - bullying culture - terrible benefits, 21 days holiday which is lower than standard, only offer statutory maternity pay, no sick pay (discretion of manager), pension scheme is basic gov scheme (no idea what pension this went to as HR didn’t offer up any information even when asked numerous times), long working hours with only half an hour lunch! - they offer a bonus of between 5-15% of your annual salary this payment is split twice throughout the year and no one usually gets more than 5% based on personal performance (measure how exactly? No one knows! And company profits) - HR are terrible at communicating - IT are difficult to get a hold of - old and outdated computers and processes - no company ethos I wish I had believed these reviews before making the jump to join THG. Believe me when I say that no matter what office you’re in, it’s a terrible place to work. No one knows what the hell is going on, and the high turnover speaks for itself. Everyone I worked with was unhappy and wanted to leave but felt stuck. I say to those still at THG... escape, believe in yourself, your worth and your talent and there will be an abundance of opportunities flowing your way.

Advice to Management

Major restructuring required! Processes need to be put in to place and management there to actually manage their staff and support them. Focus on creating a happy working environment and improve your company benefits. Think about the company’s ethos and embedding that in to the work and environment so staff have something to believe in and stand by.

Does THG offer a wellness program?

Pros

I am leaving THG at the end of this month due to personal circumstances, however, I cannot stress how amazing this company is to work for! I enjoyed my apprenticeship and have had so much support along the way from my mentors. The company culture is great and it is such a fun workplace. There are endless progression opportunities here if you are looking to build a career here. The company really cares about their employees- we have mental health first aiders and so many more employee benefits.

Cons

Overtime is not always offered
