Meaningful work and supportive culture, but some uncertainty

      Pros

Working at UserTesting offers a great opportunity to impact how companies understand their users. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with talented people across teams. There’s strong focus on product quality and innovation, and you get to work on meaningful challenges at scale while continuing to grow professionally.

      Cons

At times, there’s a sense of uncertainty from management.

      Pros

Very nice colleagues, modern technology, stable pay, some benefit perks.

      Cons

Ever since being privatized by Thoma Bravo and the merger, there are a lot of inefficiencies in planning, constant pressure to deliver more faster, overhead of meetings, loss of morale, constant reorganizations, feeling of scarcity.

Toxic Culture, Zero Growth, and a Deeply Misleading Sales Structure

      Business development representative (bdr)
      Current employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

The product has market recognition, and some colleagues on the ground level are talented and well-intentioned. Fully remote setup allows flexibility in daily scheduling.

      Cons

Zero Career Growth: Despite hitting or exceeding quota consistently year-over-year, there were no clear pathways for promotion or advancement. “No cap on commission” was repeatedly promised but quietly undermined—quotas were raised arbitrarily and accelerator percentages were slashed without notice. Not a Meritocracy: Performance doesn’t matter. Promotions were political and based on favoritism, not results. Sales reps who hit targets were pushed harder without meaningful reward. Deep Ethical Concerns: Senior leadership openly instructed reps to input fake pipeline numbers for their top accounts—essentially cooking the books to look better to private equity investors. This wasn't a misunderstanding; it was a deliberate, top-down directive. Toxic Culture & Racism: I experienced racist remarks from colleagues that were brushed off by management when reported. There is little to no accountability for behavior that violates basic standards of respect. Private Equity Destruction: Since the PE acquisition, the soul of the company has been gutted. Decisions are made solely for investor optics—not for the long-term health of the business or wellbeing of the employees. Morale tanked and turnover skyrocketed.

Thanks for taking the time to share this. We're glad you enjoy the remote setup and the people around you 🙏 The feedback on decision-making speed is fair, and it's something we're genuinely working to improve. We know slow processes can be especially frustrating when you're trying to do your best creative work. If you'd like, we would love to hear more specifics about this through our internal channels so that we can continue improving the decision-making processes.

      Cons

Went through company merger, working through that growing pain. But I expect nothing but great things once this phase is in the past.

      Pros

The people team at UserTesting is one of the best teams I ever worked with! Everyone is an expert in their own area, the leaders are caring and encouraging, and the company supports your professional development with learning stipends and resources.

      Cons

Even though they’re making an effort, the executive team is not representing some minority groups. The C-Level and SLT could be a bit more diverse.

Supportive team culture with room for improvement in communication

      Senior support specialist
      Current employee
      Barcelona

      Business outlook

      Pros

Overall, I have genuinely enjoyed my time here and have been lucky to work with some incredibly talented and supportive people. I would say that teamwork is one of the things that stands out most. People are always willing to jump in, share knowledge, and help each other out when needed. It never feels like everyone is just looking out for themselves. Another thing I really appreciate is how inclusive the environment is. People from all kinds of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences are welcomed and respected. There is a genuine effort to make people feel included, and I think that shows in the way teams work together and communicate. I also value the amount of trust employees are given. There is very little micromanagement, which allows people to take ownership of their work and be accountable for results. You're treated like a professional and given the space to do your job, which makes a huge difference when it comes to both motivation and job satisfaction. The work itself is meaningful, and it's rewarding to see the impact the product has on customers. I've learned a lot during my time here, not just from the work but from the people around me.

      Cons

Like any company, there are areas that could be improved. During periods of change, clearer communication and more visibility into long term priorities would help employees better understand where things are headed and how their work contributes to the bigger picture. Also, I personally believe that continued focus on career growth and development opportunities would definitely go a long way.

That kind of loyalty and dedication genuinely means a lot to us. 🙏 It's heartwarming to read how much you value the teamwork, inclusivity, and trust that define our culture. You've captured something we care deeply about, creating an environment where people feel respected, empowered, and supported by the people around them. Knowing that this comes through in your day-to-day experience is exactly what we strive for. Your feedback on communication during periods of change is something we take seriously. We know that clarity and transparency around long-term priorities make a real difference in how connected and motivated people feel, and we're committed to doing better in that area. Your voice, and the voices of teammates like you, are exactly what help us identify where to focus. The point on career growth and development is equally important to us. We have a lot of incredible talent here — as you clearly know from working alongside so many great people — and making sure everyone has a visible path forward is something we want to keep investing in.
