      Pros

Benefits are great. Sadly, much of the “good” at UserTesting is gone. I loved working with the people, a lot of truly kind people who valued you and your work. There is a lot of resiliency in this workforce, if you can stick around.

      Cons

There is no trust among leaders and employees. The new executive team keeps trying to make themselves approachable while talking about their multiple houses. Leadership used to care about empathy and diversity, but you can see that most of the new hires are referrals coming from companies the new execs were previously at. It’s becoming more US-centric, less diverse, and less empathetic every day. Over half of the HR team just left by choice. The new strategy feels like everything is being repackaged as something new and shiny, without any substance. The new values are meaningless and were only adopted because the CEO says they are what he personally lives by. There’s a lack of understanding of our product and many leaders are allowed to slide by with poor behavior, even when it’s reported. This used to be a good place for growth, but now if you don’t say yes to everything, you won’t get ahead.

      People? Amazing! Leadership? Needs work

      Sales

      Business outlook

      Pros

A strong sense of camaraderie and supportive teamwork is a major highlight. Many long-tenured employees express that the team environment is a key reason for their longevity at the company. The paid time off policy is generous, and management is generally supportive of employees who need to take time for personal or medical emergencies. The management team often serves as a buffer between staff and senior leadership, which is a testament to their dedication to their direct reports. There are opportunities for professional growth and learning within the organization.

      Cons

Senior leadership has a tendency to prioritize immediate results, which has led to frequent organizational changes, including team re-alignments, changes to sales territories, and staff reductions. There is a lack of consistency in company-wide policies and strategic direction. The company's structure has changed several times in recent history. Compensation, particularly within the sales department, is not competitive with current market rates. Leadership diversity appears to be an area for improvement. While there are procedures for reporting unprofessional conduct, the follow-through and resolution from human resources seem to be inconsistent.

      Pros

You’ll gain world-class endurance, emotional agility, and possibly a minor in corporate theater. Great place to practice turning mixed signals into pipeline forecasts. Also, if you enjoy plot twists, leadership direction changes weekly—so you’ll never be bored.

      Cons

Classic PE playbook: restructure, rebrand, resell. Being an AE here feels like starring in a sales simulation written by someone who’s never sold before. Unattainable quotas/comp plans, while support, headcount, and qualified pipeline keep vanishing. You’ll get all the pressure with none of the enablement—and when things inevitably go sideways, guess who’s the fall guy? Leadership loves a good “visibility” moment, especially if it involves reworking forecasts until they tell a happier (read: fictional) story. Actual strategy? TBD. Coaching? Optional. But accountability? To the fullest extent. The culture used to be about growth, collaboration, and inclusion. Now it’s more about surviving the next reorg if you're not in the PE firm club. Bonus - If you’re not part of the chosen few, expect to be looped in late and blamed early.

      Private Equity Nightmare

      Pros

None. Literally turned into the worst place I have ever worked.

      Cons

Oh my... where to start...well, since I know other reviews with truth to them have been taken down, I'll keep this high level. The Exec team (which we got in Q4 of 2024) doesn't care about the people or the product. They have dismantled such a vibrant and inclusive company into something that is unrecognizable. They are only hiring (and keeping) doers - not thinkers, researchers, or anyone who questions a task. Which leads to a lot of rework, ineffective practices, and not living any of the values. A Private Equity dream.

Supportive team culture with room for improvement in communication

      Pros

Overall, I have genuinely enjoyed my time here and have been lucky to work with some incredibly talented and supportive people. I would say that teamwork is one of the things that stands out most. People are always willing to jump in, share knowledge, and help each other out when needed. It never feels like everyone is just looking out for themselves. Another thing I really appreciate is how inclusive the environment is. People from all kinds of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences are welcomed and respected. There is a genuine effort to make people feel included, and I think that shows in the way teams work together and communicate. I also value the amount of trust employees are given. There is very little micromanagement, which allows people to take ownership of their work and be accountable for results. You're treated like a professional and given the space to do your job, which makes a huge difference when it comes to both motivation and job satisfaction. The work itself is meaningful, and it's rewarding to see the impact the product has on customers. I've learned a lot during my time here, not just from the work but from the people around me.

      Cons

Like any company, there are areas that could be improved. During periods of change, clearer communication and more visibility into long term priorities would help employees better understand where things are headed and how their work contributes to the bigger picture. Also, I personally believe that continued focus on career growth and development opportunities would definitely go a long way.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed review — and for being part of the UserTesting team for so many years. That kind of loyalty and dedication genuinely means a lot to us. 🙏 It's heartwarming to read how much you value the teamwork, inclusivity, and trust that define our culture. You've captured something we care deeply about, creating an environment where people feel respected, empowered, and supported by the people around them. Knowing that this comes through in your day-to-day experience is exactly what we strive for. Your feedback on communication during periods of change is something we take seriously. We know that clarity and transparency around long-term priorities make a real difference in how connected and motivated people feel, and we're committed to doing better in that area. Your voice, and the voices of teammates like you, are exactly what help us identify where to focus. The point on career growth and development is equally important to us. We have a lot of incredible talent here — as you clearly know from working alongside so many great people — and making sure everyone has a visible path forward is something we want to keep investing in. We hear you, and this will remain a focus for us going forward. Thank you again for the kind words, the honest reflections, and the valuable suggestions. Toxic Culture, Zero Growth, and a Deeply Misleading Sales Structure

      Pros

The product has market recognition, and some colleagues on the ground level are talented and well-intentioned. Fully remote setup allows flexibility in daily scheduling.

      Cons

Zero Career Growth: Despite hitting or exceeding quota consistently year-over-year, there were no clear pathways for promotion or advancement. “No cap on commission” was repeatedly promised but quietly undermined—quotas were raised arbitrarily and accelerator percentages were slashed without notice. Not a Meritocracy: Performance doesn’t matter. Promotions were political and based on favoritism, not results. Sales reps who hit targets were pushed harder without meaningful reward. Deep Ethical Concerns: Senior leadership openly instructed reps to input fake pipeline numbers for their top accounts—essentially cooking the books to look better to private equity investors. This wasn't a misunderstanding; it was a deliberate, top-down directive. Toxic Culture & Racism: I experienced racist remarks from colleagues that were brushed off by management when reported. There is little to no accountability for behavior that violates basic standards of respect. Private Equity Destruction: Since the PE acquisition, the soul of the company has been gutted. Decisions are made solely for investor optics—not for the long-term health of the business or wellbeing of the employees. Morale tanked and turnover skyrocketed.
