I applied in-person. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at American Apparel (Montreal, QC) in Sept 2014
Interview
Short and sweet. Spoke with District Manager and went over work experiences and apparel knowledge. There were no tricky questions, very straight forward. I sat down with the manager one on one and she asked me a variety of questions, such as my retail knowledge & fashion sense, time management and efficiency. I had applied in person and then my info was passed down to one of the store managers who contacted me shortly after.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Apparel (New York, NY) in Aug 2013
Interview
Got recommended by a friend. Went in and i didn't even need to go through the whole process of an interview. They offered me the job on the spot as soon as i went in. Signed some paperwork, and started working there the following week with some basic training. They give a $100 allowance and make you check out their factory store to buy their clothes. Basically your'e supposed to be in AA head to toe.
