      Creative (Apple Store) Interview

      13 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Apple (Chicago, IL) in May 2011

      Interview

Applied to Apple online. Received an invitation to meet them at a hotel for a group event. I went there. Everyone was in business casual clothes (few were formal). I saw only a couple in jeans. They show us a clip of why working at Apple is great, then they ask us questions (when did Apple open its first store, who has an ipad, what's you're favorite app). Make sure you answer a few questions. There were a few who kept hogging up all the answers by shouting them out. We then had to play a "game" where we play both Apple Salesman and Customer with our partners (whoever is sitting next to you). The customers included, a celebrity wanting to make a large order, a customer who wants to find out about Apple rumors, a genius who wants a job, an old lady who wants to know what an iPhone is, a college student looking to make a few purchases -- etc, etc. There are a group of Apple individuals in the back who are writing everything down, and they're timing you. Afterwards, they dismissed us, letting us know we'll know within two weeks if we were picked to continue to the next step in the interview. I received an invite that evening, setting me up with an interview. It was with three other people at this cafe near Apple. It was a very short interview -- I got the impression they didn't like me right off the bat, so weren't giving me the time. I was done within 10 minutes. Questions were about customer service, group work, etc.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Apple (New York, NY) in Jan 2023

      Interview

We were interviewed in a group setting as a "conversation". It was difficult to get a word in as one of the interviewees took over every questions. They should try to give each person a chance to speak.

What is your favorite apple product? How do you respond when a friend or family member critiques and apple product?

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Houston, TX)

      Interview

The hiring process was rather quick for myself, however I have seen the process take a while for many others as well. It is incredibly difficult to get into the job if you don't fit the current culture of that store.

Nothing stood out, but if I had to choose one it would be, How long do you plan to be with the company?

      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Apple

      Interview

Arduous process. Lengthy. Expect multiple interviews, beginning with a phone or Face Time interview with a recruiter that asks you scenario questions. Then, you move on to the store interview, and prepare for a panel. They are more interested if you "fit in." The process can drag on, and if you're lucky, you get a second interview and maybe a third and maybe a job.
