      Mixed Fleet Cabin Crew Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at British Airways (Heathrow, England) in Apr 2017

      Interview

I applied to BA for LHR MF Cabin Crew on a bit of a whim after toying with the idea of such a huge career change for a while. I found the online application quite easy and heard back the next day that I had been successful and invited to an Assesment Day. I will say that part of the online assessment is answering questions against the clock about different time zones - that was difficult and I was absolutely amazed that I had passed! I found that the dates you could choose for your assessment day were booked up really quickly so if you have a date in mind try to get it arranged as quickly as possible. I had high hopes for myself as I realised that this was a great opportunity and I would have been over the moon if I'd been successful so I prepared myself the best I could and was really excited. I actually travelled by car down to Heathrow for quite some distance! (Way up North) so because of the early start I stayed in a nearby hotel the night before. There's a shuttle bus right outside the door which takes you straight to the centre. Was really straightforward and was a godsend! I arrived at 7am with about 10 of the others. I loved this part - everyone was nervously sat on a little bench in perfect posture so it was clear we were all here for assessment! So sweet. One of the great things I will take from this experience is the people I met. I met some incredible people of many different cultures and I truly wish them every success. They are the perfect cabin crew! Just such a shame we didn't stay in touch. The general layout of the day is listed quite well here already. My personal experience is that I found the group assessment the most challenging and I feel that's where I failed. I think that if I'd have been with a different group I could have been successful. Another applicant who was here on his 3rd attempt began the assessment by suggesting we all introduce ourselves. This was completely unnecessary because we had big name badges on! So this wasted 5 mins of the little 20 minutes we had to solve a problem. Then someone else suggested we wrote down things that were already listed infront of us. Another waste of time! I deeply wanted to interject and politely explain that I didn't think these things were necessary and realise that in hindsight I should have taken leadership here. At the time I think my nerves prevented me from not wanting to seem bossy or rude. Consequently the day wore on and when it came to the "going home group's" names being called - there I was and I knew that we were going home. Yes, it was devastating. Literally like the xfactor! One group is sent home and the other successful bunch get a chance to interview! In no way do I mean to sound big-headed, but I genuinely thought I'd done better. What's worse is that 5 other girls whom I'd made friends with throughout the day, all told me that they were so shocked I didn't get through. For my own personal development I am going to try and push for feedback, just so that I know. All I can say to you is good luck, try your best and enjoy the people you will meet! If you aren't successful don't be too disheartened. There are many other airlines with far better rates of pay! Also, a girl who was wearing WHITE JEANS and a JUMPER - got through to interview. I'm not kidding you... I'm just saying... hmmm... ha good luck guys!

      Question 1

I didn't actually get an interview unfortunately. The girls I know who did said it was very quick-fire and intense though.

      Interview

A long day, but assessors helped us feel at ease throught the process. The two interviewers had different styles which helped the interview flow. The wait for an offer was the most nerve-racking part.
