Interview
Here’s my experience interviewing at Cequence:
I was approached by a recruiter on LinkedIn for the Senior Product Manager role. Although I hadn’t applied, I was excited about the opportunity as I consider Cequence a prestigious company. After sharing my contact info and resume, I had an introductory conversation with the recruiter, which I felt went well. He mentioned I would receive the next steps by the end of the day, but after three days of silence, I followed up via email due to my strong interest.
Eventually, I received a response with justification for the delay and was asked for my availability. The interview was scheduled, and during the meeting, the hiring manager primarily spoke about the company while asking me only one or two basic questions. Despite the limited interaction, I left with a positive impression and expected follow-up.
After a week and a half without updates, I reached out again to the recruiter and received another delayed response with justification, along with a request to schedule the next interview. However, further delays followed. During this time, the CMO reached out to me as a potential customer based on research documents I had downloaded while preparing for the interview. After multiple emails from the CMO, I clarified my position as a candidate, not a customer, and shared my feedback regarding the lack of response during the interview process.
Shortly afterward, I received an email from the recruiter with a justification for delays and confirmation of my rejection. The experience highlighted a lack of transparency, delays, and disorganization in how the company handles potential candidates and customers.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Cequence Security (Bengaluru) in Jan 2025
Interview
I had a very disappointing experience with Cequence regarding their hiring process. Initially, I was contacted for a Technical Support Manager (TSM) role, which was well-aligned with my experience. However, after three weeks, I was informed that the VP wanted me to interview for a Junior Solution Architect position instead. I agreed, and the HR scheduled an interview with the Head of Cloud Support.
Unfortunately, the interview was canceled three times due to panel unavailability. To compensate for the delays, they scheduled an interview with a Senior Manager from the Development team instead. However, even this was rescheduled multiple times, and the final interview took place after another week of waiting.
When the interview finally happened, the interviewer asked only two questions:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. How is your organization using Kubernetes?
After that, he mentioned that HR would reach out by the end of the week to schedule a technical discussion for the next round. However, I have not received any further updates. I followed up twice, but there has been no response from their side.

Interview
The interview process had four rounds:
1. HR Discussion – A general conversation with HR.
2. DSA Round – Three DSA questions to be solved in 60 minutes. I solved all of them.
3. Problem-Solving & Tech Round – My problem-solving went well, but the technical part was challenging. They asked unexpected questions that had never come up in previous interviews.
4. Technical Round – Covered inter-process communication, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and networking in-depth.
In the last 2 rounds. the interviewer was from the US but was Indian. He was extremely rude, and it felt like he didn’t want me to get hired. When I asked a question, he interrupted me and moved to the next topic. This completely shook my confidence and interest in the process.
