I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Interview
I have been in several interviews with them for staff engineer and principle engineers. Each one was different, rushed thru, unplanned, interrogation style, with no clear requirements specified. In one interview I had difficulty hearing the interviewer as there was too much background noice while interviewer was talking while on desk. Engineers taking interview lack basic knowledge example - calling inheritance is strategy pattern while asking me to compare composition vs inheritance, checking if I can use keywords that they were looking for keywords that they might have memorised looking at interview questions online. Coding question when solved, interviewer was in disbelief that I solved the question and tried to nit pick on issues like my method name was quite long. Quite disappointed by the quality of interview panel, which also indicates the decline of tech in large company like CBA.
They also don't put in the job description as mind reading is one skill that I need to have. See the questions below.
I wish CBA good luck with such smart developers working for the company. I am no longer willing to use CBA products as the quality of engineers show how safe my money is.

Example - how do you configure auto scaling for ECS server
I interviewed at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Bengaluru)
Interview
I attended a technical interview for a .Net staff engineer role. The process was moderate to difficult and focused heavily on real-time project experience rather than only theoretical questions.
Interview Rounds
1. Initial recruiter screening
2. Technical interview round with senior engineers/architects
Discussion around current project architecture and production scenarios
The interviewers expected practical answers from real project experience. They asked follow-up questions deeply based on the answers provided, especially around architecture decisions, production issues, resiliency patterns, and microservice communication. Good understanding of distributed systems and debugging production problems is important for clearing the round.
Interview Difficulty : Moderate to Hard
