I had one phone interview with a group of people. A week later got invited for an on-site interview. They told that they will let me know about the result in 2 weeks, but haven't heard from them for around 2 months, when they said that they chose somebody else for the job.
During the phone interview, I was asked my operations research and revenue management skills, and projects I have completed so far. Then I was asked some technical questions about airline pricing, about some general problems they are facing.
In the on-site interview, I had 4 face-to-face interviews. Two of the people were less technical, and mostly conducted behavioral interviews. The other two asked more technical things about my modeling, optimization, and data analysis skills. One of them did a quick quiz on airline pricing problem.
Some behavioral questions:
- Tell any moment, where you showed your leadership skill to succeed in a project.
- Tell any moment, where you got disappointed by your supervisor.
Some other business related questions:
- Who is Delta's biggest competitor?
- What are the biggest issues Delta is facing when working with other airline companies?
- How would you react if our competitor drops the prices suddenly?
The technical question is about formulating the willingness to pay of people and developing the pricing model to maximize airline revenue.
