      Flight Attendant Interview

      5 Nov 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2015

      Interview

1.Applied for the position online, completing the questionnaire to see if you match the characteristics they are looking for. 2.Received an email saying I made it to the next phase, which is taking the video interview which was 5 questions, you have two minutes to answer each question, it automatically starts recording your response 30 seconds after the question is revealed. 3.A week or so later, I received a phone call from a Delta Rep saying I had made it passed the online interview and they would like to extend an offer to go to Atlanta for an in person interview. She asked questions about my passport, tattoos, etc. 4. Received the email from Delta for me to choose between about 6 dates and times for me to fly to Atlanta for the in person interview. I picked a date and time and I received my flight information a few days later. 5. Flew out to Atlanta that morning, arrived at Delta headquarters and met up in the lobby with the other applicants. Once the time came, the reps came and got us by groups and lead us upstairs to where everything was to take place. We began by mingling and talking to a room filled with current Delta employees. You have to try and speak and be personable and friendly but its so many people and everyone is trying to speak and stand out. It was weird to me. You don't want to interrupt anyone already talking to someone else but you don't want to just stand around looking awkward. You have to just try to fit in somewhere and just chat and smile. 6. We were split up into three groups: A,B,C. That's how we went through the process. I believe I was in group B. We stayed out front and got to ask whatever questions we had to this one rep. He discussed his experience as an attendant. & we were taken a few at a time to do our reach test & to see if we fit in a standard airplane seat. Then the groups rotated and we were next to go to the actual interview! There was 2 people to interview each person. They were really nice and super friendly and they asked about 6-7 questions, sort of past experiences and scenario types. once everyone in that group was interviewed we rotated again and went to the next station which was we stood on a star in front of the room and said our names, current occupation and other languages we spoke. After everyone in my group finished this introduction, we got the details on what it will be like if we get selected. They went over salary, work schedule, different duty stations, uniforms, and how training will be. 7. And the day was pretty much over. All three groups were gathered together and they said thank you for participating and they would be calling some names. The names they called would go back to a room and the names that were not called will get their belongings and the shuttle will take them to the airport and look out for an email in the days to come. Which means that they didn't get the job. There was about 50 people there who got interviewed and only 3 names called that day! I'm not sure what they look for but the 3 names (2 girls, 1 guy) didn't fit any specific look. One of the ones called didn't dress in that traditional flight attendant look. She wore a linen looking grey pantsuit... And there were about 5 people who were currently flight attendants for different airline with lots of experience and neither of them were chosen! 8. So I would say just look nice, confident and be yourself because all the people who were bubbly and over the top cheery, that didn't seem to help their case. Just do your best.

      Interview

I am currently in the interview process for the FA position and have reached the ODV part of it. Most of the questions are expierenced based, so I would recommend just thinking of the times you have exceeded the customer service baseline before hand.
