I was contacted by an EA recruiter to check if I would be interested in the role. I've decided to move forward with the process. After the HR phone interview, I was told I will hear shortly what is the next step (if any). After few weeks and multiple emails on my part, I was invited for an on-site interview. Initially was told I will be interviewed by the manager and be given a code task, later on top of that it was also added that the entire team will be interviewing me.
When I finally did meet the interviewer, after a short introduction, we basically jumped right away to the coding task and was asked if I brought my own laptop (which was never mentioned to me). The task itself was mostly HTML and CSS with little to no JS (it would be possible to get away without writing a single line of it actually).
Interviewer raised few flags on the state of the development which I am not comfortable sharing due to the signed NDA. While the campus certainly is impressive, during my interaction I did not get a sense of a strong engineering culture which is something that is very important for me.
Ultimately, they were not satisfied with my solution of the task and decided not to move forward with the process. I will not be seeking a position at EA in the future.
