I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ExxonMobil
Interview
Applied online through my school and company website. Needed a cover letter. Recieved an email that I was invited for an on-campus interview and interviewed with an alum. He explained the format of the interview before we started so you know what was coming, but it was a pretty standard behavioral interview (tell me about a time when...) Use the STAR method and be ready for follow up questions about how or why you made the decisions you did. Ask questions, I wish I had prepared more. I heard back in about a week.

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at ExxonMobil
Interview
Very friendly and open-minded interviews in three steps. First management and directly afterwards on supervisor level, third on general management and HR level.
Questions were rather on general level, than technical expertise.
I applied online. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Singapore)
Interview
A sit down talk with a few technical leads, something like a panel interview, but less formal.
Questions asked were more on interest and fit, rather than technical expertise as it was just an internship interview.

Interview
One first round interview in person through the university. The interviewer then told me that if I had a successful first round interview I would have a phone screening as a second round interview.
