Before I go into my experience, let me explain even though I chose 'interviewed with no offer' in my entry here, that was not the case..I interviewed with 'pending offer' as an outcome but then it was rescinded unprofessionally. Allow me to describe what happened..... I was contacted by HR and they set up a phone interview which happened. It consisted of mostly behavioral type questions with a few position related ones. Did well, was then contacted for a face to face about a week later. I prepared well in advance anticipating a good thorough interview related to the position. I arrived at the location early and my interviewer was about 30 minutes lated. Very unprofessional and in my mind first red flag. When that person finally arrived I was asked several questions based off my experience on my resume. It seemed as they were not prepared in advance ( they were late so how could they) and they were just pulling the questions out of their you know what. At this point the interview was fairly easy. Until they threw a logical puzzle at me. At this point it was obvious these people fancy themselves a 'Google' or 'Microsoft' which they are not (let's be real, they make navigation equipment). Anyway, I could not focus because I kept thinking how ridiculous this part of the interview was. It seemed they were proud of this brain teaser puzzle however when it came to the real interview and questions, it was weak. I want to point out the second red flag was that I was not being interviewed by a QA person. You would think that would be the 'logical' thing to do. Anyway, i bombed out on the puzzle (mostly by choice) and I left the interview a bit dissapointed. When I got home there was an email form HR saying the person that interviewed thought I was a good match and they were going to make me an offer. O...k.. Next they checked my references which came through great...I waited a few days and finally got word back they would not be moving forward with me and the decision was based on a few things which were not specified. Wait....what?? First they say that I'm a good match and now I am rejected. What a waste of time and my references time! Be very careful when dealing with these clowns.
