The interview process began in a little ambiguous manner. Hiring manager's admin reached out via email (no introductory phone call, etc.). Hiring manager conducted the phone interview and quickly moved forward for in-person interview. I was super positive with the progress. The hiring manager appeared smart and to the point, so I decided to fly in for inperson interview. The interview was a day long one-to-one, but the unknown to me was that, they were interviewing me for 4 different positions. Two out of four roles completely unrelated to my experience and skills set. I had no prior intimation that I would be interviewed by managers in those two roles where my background didn't match atall. After several follow-ups 5 weeks later the hiring manager came back saying they hired an internal candidate for the role and asked if I was interested in one of the roles that never had a match. He advised that once I enter I can move into role of my choice!
This didn't resonate with my expectations and career goals. I didn't move forward with the role.
